Welcome to the XL Academy online homepage.
The XL Academy is a residential Christian Gap Year Programme based at Church @ The Foundry - Widnes - UK. If you are aged 18 - 25 years old and want to give 1 year of your life to God and His church whilst getting some excellent input from cutting edge leaders and ministries, then maybe the XL Christian Gap Year is for you. Applications are now being taken for September 2012 with limited spaces available. The Foundry is linked to AOG UK church networks and part of the Evangelical Alliance.
The dates for 2012 are Sept 22nd 2012 to July 14th 2013 with an extension week at SYC in August 2013.

Costs and Fees for 2011/2012
Here at Church @ The Foundry, we believe that good training and discipleship is a must in everybody's life. We also believe that you shouldn't have to pay a fortune to receive this. That is why the XL Academy is absolutely FREE!! Yes that’s correct; Church @ The Foundry will not charge you at all to come and take part in the Academy or for your accommodation. We recognise the value of inputting into young people so we subsidise the cost of your course, lecture notes and even some of your living expenses.
However, there are some costs involved in your year. The cost of food, travel, textbooks, readingbooks, conferences is £1980. The cost for the mission to Spain or main land Europe is covered by an additional payment of £680. Your mission’s trip to Spain or main land Europe is compulsory but your trip to Israel is optional, however most students want to attend this also.
Personal spending, laundry & toiletries during your XL year will be your own responsibility. These costs can be paid by personal means or sponsorship from your friends, family or local church.
