Welcome to the XL Academy online homepage.

The XL Academy is a residential Christian Gap Year Programme based at Church @ The Foundry - Widnes - UK. If you are aged 18 - 25 years old and want to give 1 year of your life to God and His church whilst getting some excellent input from cutting edge leaders and ministries, then maybe the XL Christian Gap Year is for you. Applications are now being taken for September 2012 with limited spaces available. The Foundry is linked to AOG UK church networks and part of the Evangelical Alliance.

The dates for 2012 are Sept 22nd 2012 to July 14th 2013 with an extension week at SYC in August 2013.

Mission

Mission is a big part of the XL Academy. Not only will you be doing mission in and around the towns of Widnes, Warrington and Runcorn, but you will also be involved in an overseas mission trip into main land europe. At present we have planned a 2/3 week mission during term 3 (June) to Paris and Barcelona where we will work alongside local churchs to deliver the gospel through dramas and street work. However we are also seeking to introduce a new mission into main land europe so at present we cannot guarantee where the mission will be. We can however guarantee an overseas mission trip during your year with us.

The Jerusalem Experience

As part of your XL Christian Gap Year with us, you may also have the opportunity to go to Israel and Jerusalem as part of the church mission’s trip. Details can be available upon your successful application to the Academy.
